Morgan's wedding dress tallit

By Sharon Landecker on Oct 22, 2022 in Custom Traditional Designs

Morgan wanted to use lace from her grandmother's wedding dress on her tallit. After looking at lots of different colors, she chose a gorgeous teal silk dupioni to use for the body of her tallit. We discovered that putting a cream colored dupioni under the silk, gave it a very rich look, so we did that, and then used the same dupioni for the atarah and corners. We put the corners on the underside of the tallit, as to not disturb the lines of the lace. It is stunning.

The atarah says L'dor va dor, in Hebrew with a beautiful embroidered horse head in the middle. All of her corners are the initials of her and the matriarchs in the family - her mother, grandmothers and great grandmothers.
