Tema's Tallit

Tema wanted Noah's Ark on her tallit, to express her love for all animals, though it wasn't her Torah portion. The tallit is a beautiful teal blue dupioni, with chartreuse atarah and corners. The ark, waters and animals are made from various silks and cottons. This tallit was lined with a blue and green cotton, but with dupioni on the ends, so that it has a two-toned fringe. I spent months ordering animal fabrics for this tallit, and after appliquéing them on, stitched them to make feathers, manes, fur....
Tema wanted it lined with a fun fabric, and I also put an extra strip of dupioni silk on the inside, so she got a bi-colored fringe.
Tema wanted the Shema on her atarah.
